a) Who was St George?
He was a cavalier.

b) Where was he born?
George was born a citizen of the Roman Empire at Cappadocia, Turkey, in 280AD. At the age of 17 he joined the Roman Army and quickly rose through the ranks.

c) What was his occupation?
He was a cavalier.

d) What kind of person was he?
He was an impressive man in looks and personality. Records describe him as tall in stature and strikingly handsome. Among his men, he gained a reputation for being fair, chivalrous and brave.

e) What was the official religion of the Roman Empire?
The main religion of the Roman Empire was Paganism and Christianity was feared by the establishment. The emerging religion was perceived to be undermining the Roman morale and order

f) What did the Roman Emperor do that made St. George angry?
Because Christian scriptures were burnt, churches were destroyed and practising Christians lost their right to Roman citizenship. Violence soon followed. Among the Christian communities, Diocletian became known as the cruellest ever persecutor of the faith

g) What was St. George's reaction?
George took a stand at the city of Nicomedia, in Palestine. John Clemence said: “George tore down the Emperor’s edict and worked to alleviate the suffering of Christians in the area. His position however was unsustainable. He was taken prisoner and brought before Diocletian. George gave a passionate speech denouncing the persecution and defending Christianity.”

h) What did the Roman Emperor do to St. George?
Diocletian ordered George to be tortured until he renounced his faith. George refused to submit and was beheaded on April 23 303AD.

Writing a narrative


Last saturday my team and I played the finally match of the tournament.At the beginning we were winning but te other team did a goal :( . We were tie.In the second time I did a goal with the head in one corner :) . But when were ending the other team did another goal in a fault. We were to th extra team but we were tie. Finally we went to the Penalties! I did other goal but Tom, one friend miss his kick and we lose.

Strange Tales



Strange Tales, Martin Sinclair

We chose this book because the teacher told us to read it.
They are scary stories from Great England.

Chapter 1: The Ghosts in the Tower of London.

Place and date of the story: The Tower of London in 1483 and in 1509Those are the main characters: Albert Brown, Len Jackson, James Tyrell and Henry VII. The ghosts Anne Boleyn and Edward V and his brother.This story is about Albert, the head of security of the Tower of London, who talks to his new partner, Len, the stories about the ghosts of the Tower. First, Albert tells Len about Edward the Fifth and his brother who appear in the staircase. They died because their uncle ordered a guard, James, to kill them. Richard wanted to be the King of England. Next, he talks him about his favourite ghost, Anne Boleyn. Her husband, Henry, killed her because he wanted to marry a different woman.

Chapter 2: The Ghosts of Glamis Castle.

Place and date of the story: In the Glamis Castle, in Scotland. The first story is many years ago, the second one is in 1841 and the third one is in the time of James V of Scotland.Those are the main characters: A few men from the Ogilvey clan, the Earl of Glamis, a workman, George Lyon and his son, Lady Janet Glamis and James V.This chapter tells three stories of Glamis Castle. The first story is about a few men of the Ogilvey clan. They escaped of a terrible battle with the Lindsay clan. Later, they went to Glamis Castle and the Earl of the castle put them in a secret room of the castle. They died enclosed in it. Many years later, Lord Strathmore, another Earl, found the skeletons.The second story is about George Lyon's son. Apparently he died at birth, but it is not true. The parents put the baby in a secret room and he lived over there. One day a workman saw the monster, and George Lyon sent him and his family to Australia. Today, people at the castle can hear a child crying at night.The last story is about the ghost of Lady Janet. The King James V of Scotland hated her because she was from an enemy clan and he burned her at the stake. Janet's ghost returned to Glamis Castle and she is floating around the clock tower with a red glow around her head.

Chapter 3: Borley - A Haunted Village.

Place and date of the story: At the rectory of Borley. In July 28th, 1900; in 1928 and in February 27th, 1939.Those are the main characters: Reverend Harry Bull, Reverend Guy Smith, Reverend Lionel Foyster and their families. The ghosts of the rectory and Mr Price.This story is about a haunted rectory. It is in Borley and it is full of ghosts. The different families that they lived there went frightened to another place to live. On February 27th, 1939, the rectory began to burn. The people of the village saw the faces of the ghosts in the windows. This all happened a long time ago, but the people of village still call Borley the most haunted village in England.

Chapter 4: The Soldier Ghost.

Place and date of the story: In a village in Wales called Barley Hill.Those are the main characters: Mr Howard, Mr Jones and the soldier ghost.In Barley there was a soldier ghost who died in a battle there. He lived in the hill and the people of the village are frightened of him. Any old farmers, as Mr Howard, often saw him. One day Mr Jones came to live in the village. When his workmen started to plough the hill, he saw the ghost. Then, the farmers called a ghost investigator to come to the village and he told that the story is true. Soon after that, Mr Jones left Barley Hill and took his workmen with him. The farmers took the skeleton of the soldier and buried it in the village graveyard.

Chapter 5: The Story of Mary Gibson.

Place and date of the story: In a village of England, in 1653.Those are the main characters: Mary Gibson, Annie Snow, Farmer Jones and Dora Lee.This story is about a woman of a village, Mary Gibson. Other woman, Annie Snow said that Mary was a witch. At first, no one listened Annie Snow and her stories but a day Mary Gibson went to buy milk and that was sour because it was a hot day. Then, Farmer Jones said that the milk was good before Mary arrived at the shop.The people began to tell stories about Mary Gibson and a night a mob of angry villages took her to the square and they burned it in a ladder.

Chapter 6: The Loch Ness Monster.

Place and date of the story: In the Loch Ness, Scotland. The stories happened in 565, 1827, 1930, 1968 and 1972.Those are the main characters: Jock Mackay, Mr Jackson.This chapter is about a tour guide, Jock, who tells Jackson, an American tourist, the story of the Loch Ness Monster. The guide talks him about a priest who said Nessie, the monster, in 565. Also he spoke him about an investigation that a group of investigators made with sonar equipment in 1968. And he talks him about an investigation that a group of Americans made with modern equipment in 1972.Jackson says that this was lie but Jock says that this was true.

I like this book because the stories are scary

My Story

When María was 45 years old, her mother gave her a girraf for a pet. She and her girraf went everywhere together. On fridays they went to the park at moornig and then they went to the cinema. Her pet liked to eat chiken. María really liked to eat chiken too, so she asked her mother to give them some for dinner. In the evening, María liked to sit on the sofa and watch the simpsons. Sometimes she felt happy when her girraf watched the simpsons.

Andre Romelle Young (Dr.Dre) born in February 18th, 1965, primarily know by his stage name Dr.Dre, is an American record producer, rapper, and record executive. He is the founder and current CEO of Aftermath Entertainment and a former co-owner and artist of Death Row Records, also having produced albums for and overseeing the careers of many rappers signed to those record labels such as Snoop Dogg and Eminem. As a producer he is credited as a key figure in the popularization of West Coas G-funk, a style of rap music characterized as synthesizer-based with slow, heavy beats.

Dr.Dre began his career in music as a member of the World Class Wreckin' Cru and he later found fame with the influential gangsta rap group N.W.A which popularized the use of explicit lyrics in rap to detail the violence of street life. His 1992 solo debut The Chronic, released under Death Row Records, led him to become one of the best-selling American performing artist of 1993 and to win a Grammy Award for the single "Let Me Ride". In 1996, he left Death Row to found his own label Aftermath Entertainment, producing a compilation album, Dr. Dre Present the Aftermath, in 1996, and releasing a solo album titled 2001, in 1999, for which he won the Grammy producer's award the next year.

During the 2000s he focused his career on production for other artist, while occasionally contributing vocals in other artists' songs. Rolling Stone named him among the highest-paid performers of 2001 and 2004. Dr. Dre also had acting roles in the 2001 films The Wash and Training Day.
